I created Jamie Brianna’s Legacy Fund to honour my beloved daughter who passed away suddenly in November 2017.  I knew I had to find a way to honour her and our shared passion for animals. I had a few ideas rolling around in my head and settled on this one: a pet retention fund to help people keep their beloved pet(s) rather than having to surrender them to a shelter due to a temporary financial hardship. There are many ways to save animals’ lives, a shelter intervention program is one. It not only keeps animals out of shelters in the first place, it keeps them with the family they know and love.  I think Jamie would approve of this idea to honour her and keep her memory alive, because she would have been absolutely crushed if ever forced to make the heartbreaking decision to give up one of her babies; they were her family, as it always should be.
