July, 2026: Say hello to handsome Rambo, our latest Happy Tail from Cat Adoption Team. With your donations we were able to help him get the dental care he needed to stay with his family. Here’s an excerpt of what his mom had to say: “In his teens, Rambo developed an autoimmune disease that attacks his teeth, this makes his affected teeth become so painful that he isn’t able to eat. Seeing him in pain and struggle to eat breaks my heart. I knew I could never give up on my man, so I
started searching for help. I came across a program called Keeping Cats in Homes.
This program helped my man get the help he needed and helped him get out of pain
and eating again. Without this program, he would not have had access to care. Rambo
is now recovering and eating food again. We are forever grateful for the help that this
program has so generously offered us, and my heart is full seeing my man out of pain. I
don’t know how we can ever thank you. You will always be in our hearts.” Thank you to everyone who makes these outcomes possible! ????????

May, 2026: 8 year old Sweet Tea had a cracked tooth that needed to be extracted, a financial impossibility for her family. They reached out to Red Rover, and through their On-Call Angel program Sweet Tea was able to get the help she needed; from her very grateful family:

“We love our dog so very, very much and cannot imagine life without her.”

“Update: Hello! Sweet Tea is doing great and healing well. She is still on soft dog food for now but she is back to her fun-loving self and giving lots of cuddles. We just love her dearly! We wanted to THANK YOU very much for assisting us with Sweet Tea’s vet bill. You are very much appreciated!”

March 2026: Another Happy Tail from Cat Adoption Team:

Amanda’s kitten Bellatrix injured one of her eyes and it had become infected to the point that it needed to be removed. She was taken to Oregon Humane Society but Amanda was having trouble coming up with the whole amount for the procedure. OHS referred them to CAT and the KCIH program, which was able to cover a portion of the bill. Bellatrix was able to also get spayed during the surgery.
Amanda said:
I’m so thankful for the help KCIH provided with Bellatrix. I was looking at surrendering her as she had suffered from an eye injury and I was unable to get her seen by a vet as I was in between jobs and waiting to start my new job this week. She needed seen right away and thanks to them she will be able to live a long and healthy life.

February 2026: Here’s our quarterly Happy Tail from RedRover, it’s short and sweet. We helped a family escape a domestic violence situation through the Safe Escape program. Because we have to protect their identities, we don’t have pictures this time, but I can tell you the family includes a dog named Joey* and a cat named Sweetie*; they are all safe now!

*names changed for privacy.

September, 2025: From Cat Adoption Team, “Zuko had a urinary blockage that resulted in a large vet bill. His owner Liam loves his kitty very much and was looking at second jobs to be able to cover the amount. A second blockage scare had him in urgent care again, which they were not able to pay for. KCIH covered the second visit, which luckily did not end up being a full blockage. Zuko is now doing great and Liam is very grateful to the fund, from both him and the kitty!”

June, 2025: It’s a Caturday Happy Tail! These beautiful floofs are Mongo and Petunia. They are seniors who needed expensive dental work. The Keeping Cats in Homes program at Cat Adoption Team was integral in helping them get the work done and stay with their family. “Both cats are seniors, and I am a local artist with a very limited income. The thought of having to put healthy cats to sleep because they had an expensive but highly treatable condition was killing me.”

May, 2025: This beautiful girl is Layla Belle, our latest Happy Tail from Red Rover’s On-Call Angels program. Layla Belle is 7 years old and had a mammary tumor that was growing at a very fast rate. Thankfully it was benign, but she still needed a mastectomy to remove it. Thanks to your donations we were able to help her get the surgery so she can be healthy and stay in the home she loves.

May, 2025: Our latest Happy Tail comes from Cat Adoption Team:

“Ayden reached out to us about his beloved 6 yr old Tuxedo cat Curtis Mayfield. He’d developed an ear growth that needed diagnostics, a procedure and treatment. The cost was out of their reach, as someone currently unemployed and living out of a van. 

Ayden wrote:

Both my girlfriend and I have exhausted our resources, and I have no other financial support. Curtis is my beloved companion, and I am seeking your help to ensure he receives the care he desperately needs. 

KCIH was able to cover half the bill for Curtis’s treatment at OHS which, in Ayden’s words: takes a world of pressure off my shoulders.

After Curtis’ treatment and recovery, his person sent us an update with some cute photos.

Curtis is doing much better after his surgery, he’s returning to his regular self slowly but surely 🙂 We really appreciate everything you guys have done for us!”

February, 2025: This is Axel, our latest Red Rover On-Call Angel case. Axel is a companion dog for a deaf child. Axel needed emergency surgery to remove a foreign body and our quarterly donation helped him get through it. He is now recovering nicely with his family. Your donations make these things possible! ????

December, 2024: We gave a donation to Greenhill Humane Society in Eugene, Oregon for their pet food pantry. They were able to purchase 200 lbs. of pet food for Jamie’s birthday (and probably beyond)! Feeding pets is one of the easiest ways to keep pets and their people together. ????
